Games
Tiny Bookshop
Game Type: Player vs. Story
Objective: The challenger must navigate through four chapters of the "Tiny Bookshop" challenge, each chapter offering a unique drink created by the bartender, to win the ultimate prize.
Game Rules:
The challenger pays an upfront entry fee, committing to face the "Tiny Bookshop" challenge. Each drink corresponds to a chapter, growing progressively stronger and more complex, just like the plot of a captivating book. To move on to the next chapter, the challenger must roll a die and score below the drink's alcohol proof, symbolizing their ability to handle the increasing intensity of the challenge.
Specific House Rules:
No Rewrites or Pauses: Just as an unfinished story can't be rewritten, the drinks prepared by the bartender are final. No substitutions are allowed, and challengers cannot pause between chapters to regroup.
The Prize: A cash prize (or equivalent value), matching the initial entry fee, is awarded to the challenger who successfully completes all chapters, doubling their original stake.
Book | Rating | Description | Roll to beat |
---|---|---|---|
First Chapter | 200 | A easy to drink intro into the story | 200 |
Second Chapter | 400 | More exciting, plot points | 400 |
Third Chapter | 600 | What a twist! The climax | 600 |
The Ending | 800 | The closing, will this be a happy ending or tragic | 800 |
Sequel or prequel
Objective: The challenger must roll the dice in four rounds, attempting to roll over or under the staff member’s number. The ultimate goal is to win all the prizes and, if they reach the final round, roll the winning number to claim everything.Game Rules:
Rolling the Dice: - In each round, both the challenger and the staff member will roll a die. The challenger must decide whether to roll a number over or under the staff member’s roll. - If the challenger’s roll is correct (either higher or lower than the staff member's), they win a prize for that round. If the challenger’s roll is incorrect, they lose all accumulated prizes and the game ends.Prize Progression:
- After each successful round, the challenger has the option to keep their prize or pass it on for a bigger prize in the next round.- The larger prize is determined by the next round’s success (higher risk for higher reward). However, if the challenger loses a round, they lose all prizes accumulated thus far.
Rounds:
Round 1: Challenger rolls over or under the staff member. If successful, they win a small prize.
Round 2: Challenger may keep or pass the Round 1 prize to attempt a larger one. The challenge continues with the same rule: over or under.
Round 3: The stakes are higher. A larger prize is available, but failure results in losing all previous prizes.
Round 4: Challenger may keep or pass the Round 1 prize to attempt a larger one. The challenge continues with the same rule: over or under.
Bonus Round: If the challenger has successfully completed all previous rounds and reached the final stage, they must roll a specific "winning number" to claim the grand prize. If they roll it, they win everything; if not, they lose it all.4. The Winning Number:
- Before bonus begins, a number (the “winning number”) will be secretly chosen by the staff member. If the challenger rolls this number in Round 4, they win all the prizes they have accumulated up to that point, including the grand prize.Specific House Rules:
1. No Second Chances: If the challenger loses a round, they immediately forfeit all prizes earned and the game ends.
2. Prize Determination: The value of prizes increases with each round, but the risk of losing everything also rises. Prize values are kept secret until they are won.
3. No Modifications: The rolls are final. No adjustments to the rolls can be made once they are announced. The Prize:
At the end of the game, if the challenger successfully navigates all rounds and rolls the winning number in the bonus round, they win the accumulated prizes and the grand prize,
Speed Reading
Objective: The challenger must "out read" the staff member by reading a specified number of pages, based on the roll of the die, in order to win the prize.Game Rules:
1. Rolling the Dice: At the start of each round, the staff member will roll a die to determine how many pages they read, the challenger then rolls a die to determine how many pages they read in that round.
2. Winning the Round: The challenger wins the round by finishing more assigned pages before the staff member completes theirs. If the staff member finishes first, they win the round.
3. Rounds: The game consists of three rounds. Each round begins with a new roll of the dice to determine how many pages each participant will read.Specific House Rules:
1. No Skimming: All pages must be fully read; no skipping or skimming is allowed.
2. No Pausing: Participants must maintain continuous reading throughout the round. Pauses, distractions, or interruptions will result in disqualification from that round.
3. Page Length Determination: The number of pages to be read in each round is determined by the roll of the die.The Prize: The challenger who wins the most rounds by reading their pages faster than the staff member will win a cash prize (or equivalent value) matching their buy-in amount, doubling their original stake.
